Ceramic Vessels
Clay was my first big love as a teenage artist, and I have continually returned to ceramics throughout my life. I am at once grounded and inspired by the sensuous feeling of this ancient earth material in my hands and the alchemy of fire that transforms it from mud into stone. Vessels are always useful, and their surfaces become another site for a kind of painting that foreground the interactions between the elements and my own intentions.
